Mrs. Latasha D, Porter
Mrs. Latasha D, Porter

Latasha has educated students in Gadsden County for the past 10 years: 5 years Kindergarten at GWM, 3 years First grade at GEMS, and 2 years Fourth grade at GEMS. She has also worked with several afterschool and summer school programs throughout the district. Mrs. Porter has a B.S. Degree from FSU in Child Development, a B.S. Degree from Flagler College @ TCC in Elementary Education with ESOL Endorsement; and is currently working towards my M.Ed. Degree from Saint Leo University in Educational Leadership.

She is the proud daughter of Ms. Right “Vicki” Thomas, and the late Reverend Charlie “Jackie” Dilworth (Liza). She has two children, Josiah and Mariah Porter.

Her role as a teacher is to make a difference in the life of children. It is her duty to counsel students as they grow and mature -- helping them integrate their social, emotional, and intellectual growth -- so the union of these sometimes separate dimensions yields the abilities to seek, understand, and use knowledge; to make better decisions in their personal lives; and to value contributing to society.

According to Mrs. Latasha Porter, as a teacher, it is up to her to guide students through experiences that will encourage them to think, reach their own conclusions, and apply what they have learned. She wants to show students that they don’t have to be afraid when they make mistakes. She always create an atmosphere where students strive to do their personal best. Mrs. Porter’s mission is to not only teach students daily, she also wants to inspire them as well!
