GEMS Spelling Bee Participants and Winners

On December 11, 2014, students at Gadsden Elementary Magnet School held their annual school wide Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee was very competitive and a big success with Mrs. JoAnn Kimble as the announcer, Mrs. Sarah Knight, Ms. Doris Hinson, and Mrs. Lola Fulmer as the judges, and Ms. Joyce Redding as the time keeper. Students from fourth to eighth grade competed for the title of Spelling Bee Champion. Out of 14 participants, fifth graders Kira Brown and Jan Jackson made second and third place and fourth grader, Tyler Watson was awarded GEMS Spelling Bee Champion. Tyler will go on to compete in the District-wide Spelling bee. Big thanks to Mrs. LaTasha Dilworth-Porter and Mrs. Claretta Domingos for coordinating this event.
